Official Rules SPONSOR STATS Fantasy Baseball ("Contest") is sponsored by STATS Inc., 8130 Lehigh Ave, Morton Grove, IL 60053 (collectively, with its parent, affiliates and subsidiaries referred to as "Sponsor"). ELIGIBILITY Contest open only to those who are 18 years of age or older at the time of their registration for the Contest. Contest void where prohibited. Employees, officers, directors, agents, representatives and their immediate family members (and those living in the same household) of Sponsor, their advertising and promotion agencies or any person or entity connected with the production, administration or judging of the Contest, or any of their respective parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, agents or representatives, are not eligible. CONTEST DEADLINES Registration for new teams for the Contest begins at 12:01 AM Central Time ("CT") on February 1, 2004, and ends at 11:59 PM CT on April 14, 2004 ("Registration Period"). You may register at any time during the Registration Period. No new teams or leagues will be created after April 14, 2004. After the Registration Period, you may purchase an un-owned team in an existing league at any time. To be eligible for the first game of the Contest, you must have your entry submitted before March 30, 2004. CONDITIONS Contest subject to these Official Rules. By participating, contestants agree: (i) to be bound by these complete Official Rules and the decisions of the judges, which shall be final and binding; and (ii) to waive any right to claim ambiguity in the Contest and/or these Official Rules. All federal, state and local laws apply. All federal, state or other tax liabilities arising from this Contest, if any, will be the sole responsibility of the winner. Sponsors reserve the right to use the Contest for publicity purposes, and to use the names, likenesses, prizes won and hometown names of winners for purposes of advertising, promotion and publicity without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law. Any such use with respect to minors will be subject to prior approval of parent or legal guardian. By entering, contestants agree to release and hold harmless Sponsors and their parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries and advertising and promotions agencies and their respective employees, officers, shareholders, directors and agents for: (i) late, lost, delayed, misdirected, incomplete, unreadable, inaccurate, garbled or unintelligible entries; (ii) telephone system, technical or computer malfunctions, lost connections, disconnections or transmission errors; (iii) data corruption, theft, destruction, unauthorized access to or alteration of entry or other materials; (iv) any injuries, losses or damages of any kind caused by any prize, resulting from acceptance, possession or use or misuse of any prize or from participating in the Contest; or (v) any printing, typographical, administrative or technological errors in any material associated with the Contest. Each entrant further acknowledges that the Sponsors have neither made nor are in any manner responsible or liable for any warranty, representation or guarantee expressed or implied, in fact or in law, relative to the Contest or any prize, including but not limited to its quality or fitness for a particular purpose.
Sponsors disclaim any liability for damage to any computer system resulting from participating in, or accessing or downloading information in connection with the Contest, and reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to modify, cancel or suspend this Contest should a virus, bug, computer problem or other causes beyond Sponsors' control corrupt the administration, security or proper operation of the Contest. The Contest may be terminated at any time after its commencement without prior notice; however, any prizes due will still be awarded. Sponsors may prohibit contestant from participating in the Contest or winning a prize if, in their sole discretion, they determine contestant is attempting to undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest by cheating, hacking, deception, or other unfair practices or intending to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other contestants or Sponsors representatives. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE THE WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST MAY BE IN VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION OF SUCH PARTICIPANT. SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSORS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO SEEK REMEDIES AND DAMAGES (INCLUDING ATTORNEY FEES) TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW, INCLUDING CRIMINAL PROSECUTION. The Contest, and any promotions relating thereto, including the interpretation of these Official Rules, are governed by the laws of the state of Illinois, and, by submitting an entry, each entrant submits to the personal jurisdiction of that state. STATS, Inc. reserves the right to make changes to the game and rules if necessary as the season progresses.
